What about the time?

There isn’t an one. Nobody announces “results at 6 PM sharp.” Once the allotment is approved the registrar uploads the results. That often happens in the evening or late at night. A lot of people see their status the next morning. So if you search “Jio allotment time” and don’t see anything yet don’t panic. Also these dates are tentative. Can shift a little.

On the NSE website

Head to the IPO section of the NSE site pick the Jio Platforms issue. Enter the PAN and application details you used while bidding.

    In your broker app

If you applied through Upstox, Zerodha, Groww or a similar app just open the IPO section. Your result shows there once the registrar publishes it and many apps also send a notification or email.

A small tip: use the PAN of the account you applied from and try not to refresh again and again before the results are live. Seeing “no record found” early doesn’t mean you missed out. It usually just means the results aren’t up yet.

      So How Popular Was It?

Very. By the time bidding closed the IPO was subscribed about 22 times. That means investors asked for 22 times the shares on offer and most of that demand came from big institutions. The anchor book alone got bids of over ₹ 2.5 lakh crore, more than 30 times what was available.

Why does this matter to you? Regular investors (called investors) can bid up to ₹ 2 lakh. When a category gets bids than there are shares allotment is done by a computer lottery. Every valid application gets a chance and applying for more lots doesn’t improve your odds. So getting shares is partly about luck. Thats perfectly normal.

What About the Grey Market Premium (GMP)?

GMP is basically the buzz price” of a share before it lists. On October 25 the Jio GMP was around ₹ 250 per share. That points to a listing price near ₹ 1,369 about 22% above the top of the price band.

If that holds one lot of 12 shares could give a paper profit of around ₹ 3,000 (12 × ₹ 250). Sounds great right? Just remember: GMP is unofficial and unregulated and it can move fast. Think of it as a hint, not a promise.

What Usually Happens With Giant IPOs?

Big doesn’t always mean a jump on day one. Hyundai Motor India (2024) LIC (2022) and Paytm (2021) all started trading below their issue prices. On the hand Coal Indias 2010 debut came with a big premium. Jio has demand and a positive GMP going for it but with a valuation above ₹ 10 lakh crore the price can swing a lot on listing day. So go in with expectations.

A Quick Word on Banker Fees and Where the Money Goes

A few of you searched for banker fees too. Here’s the short answer. Reports from March 2026 said Reliance set fees at about 0.65% of the issue size, which is lower than the usual market rate. Lead banks include Kotak Mahindra Capital and Morgan Stanley. If that rate applied to the ₹ 30,213 crore issue it would work out to roughly ₹196 crore but thats only a rough estimate, not a confirmed number.

The money? Up to ₹ 27,500 crore will go toward paying back borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. The rest is for business needs.

What If You Don’t Get Any Shares?

Don’t feel bad it happens to applicants in a popular IPO. Your blocked UPI amount should be released around October 27. You can still buy Jio shares from the market after listing on October 28 though you’ll pay whatever the market price is that day.. If your Jio IPO Allotment Status – Blog Article
